The Designer in me

It was about a year ago when I realized that many of the concepts of graphic design are present in other design disciplines.
Yes, this high brow epiphany came to me during an episode of Project Runway, when Tim Gunn was pushing a budding designer to “resolve” his design and add “texture and layers.” I thought, [...]

New Stamps on Etsy

This week I was very flattered to be featured on the Made By Girl blog and even happier to see that it brought many new friends to my Etsy shop. It also inspired me to wrap up all the unfinished stamps I had started earlier in the year! Below are some new ones I just [...]

OshKosh - oh Gosh!

There is a HUGE annual aviation convention in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. It’s coming up this summer, and Auto Pilot magazine is starting to promote it. Below is a short story we designed that features Chuck Aaron, who is an acrobatic helicopter pilot sponsored by Red Bull. This guy is crazy and awesome! I think the large [...]

New work - Non Profit Logo and Save the Date

We are happy to be working the C5 Youth Foundation again on their graduation event, Dare to Dream. The project as a whole includes logo design, a save the date, event invitation and program book. Because I attended a graduate program in Social Work, collaborating with non-profits is really rewarding as I get to merge [...]

I’m on Auto Pilot

So, as a lot of you know (I think) I got my pilot’s license in 2003 and still occasionally go up in my dad’s airplane. Here we are together a few years back:

Custom Stamps on Etsy!

I’ve changed some things around in my Etsy shop. We have to decided to focus only on custom address stamps for now, and see where that takes us. I’m excited, because these little guys are so fun to design. I want one of each. Below are some new creations that I just added to the [...]

Sara Cowley Design on Etsy!

I’ve been pondering an Etsy shop for some time now, and finally went whole hog and started one up! You will see some of the art I’ve blogged about, like my silhouettes, custom address stamps, and flashcards. However, there is also new stuff, like the type posters featured here! Please go to our shop here, [...]

New work: Materials for Golf Tournament

We wanted to share the completion of our most recent project, the materials for the C5 Coca-Cola Annual Golf Tournament! We created a program book and directional signage for the event. Below you will see our booklet, and I’m also experimenting with a new way to present work online. What do you think?

Did you know?

These tokens from my client Metal Morphosis have fun “little known” facts inscribed in pewter. We came up with the packaging—they sit in these little bins and you are welcome to sort through to find your fav! The typeface and notebook paper give these a schoolbox / trapper keeper vibe. Good for kids young and [...]
